葵の上は、源氏の最初の妻となる女性です。
といっても政略結婚でした。
身分の高い家に生まれている葵の上はプライドの高い女性でした。
結婚当時、源氏は母桐壺に似た継母の藤壺に恋をしていたのもあって、政略結婚相手の葵の上のことはないがしろにしていました。
二人の冷めた関係は10年続きますが、
源氏の子を妊娠した葵の上のつわりに苦しむ様子に、源氏は寄り添うようになり、また葵の上も初めての出産の心細さから源氏を頼りにし、
ようやく関係性が良くなります。
葵の上は出産後に生き霊に取り憑かれて亡くなってしまいます。
その生き霊は源氏の愛人の六条御息所でした。彼女は夕顔の死にも関わる人物です。
源氏を愛するあまり、源氏を取り巻く女性たちを苦めていくキャラクターです。
彼女についてはまた改めて触れます。

プライド高く、気持ちのままに源氏を愛することができず、愛されなかった葵の上。
他の女性たちのように素直に自身の気持ちを表に出せずにいた不器用な弱さ、
名家に生まれた気品に溢れた雰囲気も魅力です。
プライドが邪魔をして素直になれなかったのかなあと思うような場面もありました。
そんな彼女のセットは、
敢えて段染めで可愛い色を使ったり、儚く美しいイメージで染めました。
優しく、切なさが美しい色合いのセットになったかなと思っています。

After Aoi no Ue gives birth, she is possessed by a living spirit and dies.
That living spirit was Genji's mistress, Rokujo Miyasudokoro. She is also involved in Yugao's death.
She is a character who loves Genji so much that she causes hardship to the women surrounding Genji.

Aoi no Ue was unable to love Genji as much as she wanted and was not loved.
A clumsy weakness that prevented her from expressing her feelings openly like other women.
The atmosphere full of elegance that comes from a prestigious family is also attractive.

セット販売のため一巻きあたりをお安くしての6巻セットです。
糸の長さは７０メートル程度、
20/3コーマ、シルケット加工の糸、
ラメ糸は10/2（20/4と20/3 の中間程度の太さ）です。

大切に染めていますが、手染めなので色ムラがあったり、糸の継ぎ目がある場合があります。
濃い色は色落ちすることが可能性としてございます。

また、染める際の枷により色の違いが見られます。
手染め、手仕事ゆえですが、ご理解いただける方にお求めいただけますと幸いです。
